Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) have emerged as an institutional form of aggregating small and marginal farmers that can effectively handle the key challenge being faced by the small and marginal farming community in making farming activities as a sustainable source of livelihood. Farmer members, herein, shall be able to leverage their collective strength and bargaining power to access financial inputs leading to reduction of transaction costs. At the same time, they can tap high-value markets and enter into partnerships with other entities on equitable terms.
Sheel Biotech Ltd has been empaneled as Cluster Based Business Organization (CBBO) under Central Sector Scheme (CSS) for formation and promotion of 10,000 FPOs across different states/ districts. Presently, the organization is empaneled with different IA’s including NERAMAC, SFAC, NAFED and NCDC. Holistic and sustainable development of agriculture.

Sheel Biotech Ltd. (SBL) is empaneled as a Support Agency by the INM Division, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, under the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) scheme. The organization is presently engaged in providing services as a Support Agency, Implementing Agency, and Service Provider for the adoption and certification of organic farming under various government schemes, including MIDH, PKVY, and MOVCDNER.
SBL is also empaneled with the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) as a Technical Support Agency for the implementation of organic farming projects across multiple states. Currently, SBL is working with the Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) in two districts, supporting Mahila Kisan groups under organic cluster projects.
In addition, SBL is empaneled with SFAC, NABARD, NCDC, NERAMAC, and various other agricultural institutions for the design and implementation of agricultural development interventions across India.
Under the MOVCDNER scheme, SBL has successfully hand-held several Organic Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in the North-Eastern states, which have now achieved organic certification as per NPOP guidelines. These FPOs have become self-sustaining entities, marketing their products independently and contributing to the growth of the organic sector.
Apart from organic FPOs, SBL, as a Cluster-Based Business Organization (CBBO), continues to promote and support numerous other FPOs across various states, ensuring their long-term sustainability and performance excellence.
